Good news to finish a very trying year...

Hello all,

I have to share this with the world!! I am soooo happy!

A close family member was diagnosed with cancer almost a year ago.  We had to go thru chemotherapy and other treatments.  For anybody who has been struck by this horrible disease, Cancer is a battle and I am happy to say that I got some excellent news yesterday.

While we are not cancer free, we got to a maintenance point.  Chemotherapy will be decreased to only two sessions every couple of months just and after that depending on the improvements, it will be spread out more and more.

It might not seem like it, but believe me, it is great news.

Please take the time to hug and kiss your loved ones.  Always make time to tell them how much you love them, because things can change in an instant.  Thankfully we have a good prognosis were we are, little by little, wining this battle, but I know there are lots of people out there that have been affected by Cancer who don't get to experience this good news…

This is a perfect ending to 2009! Really looking forward a healthy and productive 2010!

XOXO

How to balance it all?

It's been a long time since the last time I posted anything on my blog... I have been so busy with work, school and just life in general.
Unfortunately, I haven't been crafting as much as I'd like but believe me I am trying to find a balance.
Does that happen to you all? I want to work, go to school, get home and be a good wife and cook dinner, I want to work out, do homework, I wan to read and I want to play with my stamps and my cricut!
In other words, I wish I want to do it all, but I can't. I just finished a very stressed semester and I had time for work, homework and food! Nothing else!
I am trying to find time to balance it all... Next semester I will be taking less classes (only 3 - compared to the 5 five I took last semester!)
I am also trying to stay organized at work and at home. My dear husband, got me a desk and some cabinets for my crafts so now I have a designed area for homework and for my crafts. I really hope to be able to do it a bit better this time around!

In between all that craziness I was able to complete some projects. One of my cousins just had a baby and for her baby shower I volunteered to create her baby shower invitations and some favors. Here is a pic of the cards I made:
I made about 80 of them but of course I didn't take a picture of them all! What do you think?? Cute huh? Well not as cute as my new niece Katie!

I also had an addition to my family! I got a pink Cricut expression! Unfortunately I haven't been able to use it as much as I'd like but I am getting there. I actually used it on Thursday to make some hug coupons that one of my brother's in law asked me for...

Here are the coupons... I made them in like 20 minutes... I think I did good... what do you say?

He gave the coupons to his parents so that they could use them whenever they feel they haven't seen one of their sons. We are all really busy somethings and we forget to slow down and just say hi, how are you! So this will be a nice reminder to slow down for a kiss and a hug!

Well, I think this is all for today! I hope you are all having a great Sunday! I am working on another post which I will hope to have ready for you all tomorrow!

Again have a great Sunday and a little late but Merry Christmas!

XOXO

Ideas for MOD Fundraiser

Hello All,
I have been so busy at work, that any time left I had I used to cook dinner, do chores at home and sleep! But I am having creative withdrawls! Hehehehe have you ever experience those?
Anyway, I am trying to get organized and I am happy to report, that I will start a new project today!!!
Here are the details:
I am in the process of creating, cards, bags, and books for a March of Dimes fundraiser.
Every year at work, we have different fundraisers (last year my group did a Relaxation basket and raiser over $500 bucks!) Other departments did different things too, sold baked goods, scarfs, book sales, etc, etc and this year we decided to have me make some cards, and paper crafts in order to raise some money for March of Dimes (MOD)

If you all have any ideas of easy, nice looking cards, please let me know... As you all know I am still very new to this and I suffer from creator's block very often! Hehehehe :0)

Anyway, I already have some ideas and some bags made so I will add some pictures shortly! Thanks again for stopping by and have a great day!
If you'd like some more info on March of Dimes please visit their site:

Open, Open, Open...

Hello All,

Do you remember that Mervyn's TV commercial where there is a lady at the door just waiting for the door to open??
Well, that is exactly how I feel right now! Open, Open, Open!

I guess I should explain... As you might know today is the first day of the Spring-Summer 2009 Stampin' Up! catalog, and I have to tell you it is fantastic! I love all the new Designer paper just as much as I love all the new stamps!

Anyway, I wanted to place an order and it also occurred to me to add the new catalog here, just like I did to the 2008 one. However, the link is not up yet! but I can not wait!!!

I know some of you haven't seen the catalog and I do want to share this really exciting time and catalog with you all!
As soon as the link is active, I will add it to my blog.
While I am just a Hobby SU! demo, I still love all the paper, stamps, inks, and accessories!

Thanks for stopping by!

Mini Books made with Bind it All

Okay, so since I have my Pink Bind it all machine, I have decided to make little books and I have to say that I really enjoy doing it! I cut the paper for the pages, I cover my chipboard and I am even experimenting with other materials aside from chipboard. The best part is that I have 3 orders for mini books!!! Heheheheh

  • My husband wants me to make him one so he can take notes at work (He is always so supportive of me!)

  • My Mom wants one too

  • Also a good friend of the family, Guero, asked if I could make him one for quick notes at work.
Aren't they the best???!?! Anyway, I will post the ones I make them soon, but in the mean time, here are four of the books I have made. Hope you all like them.

Sorry the pictures are not the best :(

The little itti bitty one

The Flowery One

The three of them!

My favorite one -- well it's just because I love this paper!!

So what do you think?? Do you like them? I still have to practice more for the ones that require more than or less than 6 holes! hehehe any tips?

Additional Cards

Hello All again,

I know two post in one day WOW!!!

Here are some additional cards that I had not had the time to post... they are (if I remember correctly) from my December's stamp class. Enjoy!

This is the envelope from the card below. I don't have this stamp set so It was rather nice to experiment with something new!

This is a nice Valentine's Day card and I particularly like the combination of Pink with black.

This one is a nice Thanksgiving card, not my best work with the markers but I am still learning! :)

This one is from the new 2009 Stampin' Up! catalog, I think pretty much every SU blog has a version of it, but they are so darn cute! and I love Candy Lane designer paper don't you?

This one is a little book where we used the spritser thingy and I was just amazed by the effects. It was kind of smired because I did not let it dry :( but it still looks okay... at least to me :)

This one is just something I made with a couple of scraps. I love the fact that it is so simple.

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to leave a comment! Please come again!

Late Christmas!

Hi Everyone,
Well this year Christmas came late for me! I got my Pink Bind It All on Friday. YAY!!!

And of course I could not wait to create a little book. Here is my attempt to a Mini Book. Please let me know what you think.
I used Stampin' Up! designer paper to cover the chipboard and some felt flowers also from stamping up. Hope you like it!
After I cover the chipboard, I made the wholes on the cover and back, using the Cover setting on the bind it all.

Then after I made the punches on the cover, I did the same thing with the inserts. I used some white cardstock that I had and I cut it to size 3 1/4 by 4 inches.

Then I cut the Owire to size, in order to add it to the book.

I made sure that the closure was on the inside of the book, to avoid the book falling apart!

And that's it! Here is the finish product! Hope you like it! Thanks again for stopping by!
