(Re)Inventing Myself...

Hello all,

Okay so I just realized that I haven't posted anything since last year! Shame on me!!!
I know each year I promise that I am going to spend more time doing it and I never follow thru with it, but this time its different I have decided to start and really invest time in it.
I love crafting as it gives me a chance to relax and just focus on my projects and believe me it's a nice break after a long day at work.
So I have decided to make some changes in and effort to reinvent myself and my blog!

First of, I decided to change the name of my blog! YAY!!! I do not consider myself a stamping newbie anymore! I am not a professional by any means but I have been doing this since 2008 and I feel more secure in my crafting!
Second, I discovered Close to My Heart Products and I have to say that I am in love with them!
They are such a nice company and their papers, stamps, inks and colors are all awesome!

I hope to start sharing little by little my little works of art as well as any Close to my heart products and offers :)

2010 Project #1

Hello all,
I have a new little post for you... as you might have guessed I am obsessed with chipboard and bind it all books! This is the last one I made for...
I made it because I hadn't used my cheep talk stamp set and I adore the matching paper and I just love it!

The first step was adhering the paper to the chipboard with a strong adhesive

I did both sides of the paper focusing on the blue birds on the outside and the brown in the inside of the cover and back cover of the book...

Then I made the holes with the bind it all.  I also prepared the inside sheets.

Then I added the o-wire...

To finish it off I just embellished the front with a stamped image and a scalloped circle... I also added some little ribbons on the wire with light blue ribbon...

What do you think??? I think it came out okay considering I hadn't stamped or played with my craft tools in a while...

How about you? Do you have any new 2010 projects you would like to share???

Thanks for stopping by and come back soon!

XOXO

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year Everyone!!!

I am really excited to start the new year! I am really hoping that this year is soooo much better than 2009! I had, like everyone, a lot of ups and downs, but I was really ready for it to end! and end it did!

I have a lot of resolutions for this new year and one of them is to keep up with my cards, my "SU! business" (although all I use for now is to get a discount on my stuff hehehehe) and of course my blog!  I would love to make videos but I know I am nowhere near ready for that LOL!

Anyway, thanks for stopping by and please keep coming back! I am organizing some new stuff for my blog!

Happy New Year everyone!

Good news to finish a very trying year...

Hello all,

I have to share this with the world!! I am soooo happy!

A close family member was diagnosed with cancer almost a year ago.  We had to go thru chemotherapy and other treatments.  For anybody who has been struck by this horrible disease, Cancer is a battle and I am happy to say that I got some excellent news yesterday.

While we are not cancer free, we got to a maintenance point.  Chemotherapy will be decreased to only two sessions every couple of months just and after that depending on the improvements, it will be spread out more and more.

It might not seem like it, but believe me, it is great news.

Please take the time to hug and kiss your loved ones.  Always make time to tell them how much you love them, because things can change in an instant.  Thankfully we have a good prognosis were we are, little by little, wining this battle, but I know there are lots of people out there that have been affected by Cancer who don't get to experience this good news…

This is a perfect ending to 2009! Really looking forward a healthy and productive 2010!

XOXO

How to balance it all?

It's been a long time since the last time I posted anything on my blog... I have been so busy with work, school and just life in general.
Unfortunately, I haven't been crafting as much as I'd like but believe me I am trying to find a balance.
Does that happen to you all? I want to work, go to school, get home and be a good wife and cook dinner, I want to work out, do homework, I wan to read and I want to play with my stamps and my cricut!
In other words, I wish I want to do it all, but I can't. I just finished a very stressed semester and I had time for work, homework and food! Nothing else!
I am trying to find time to balance it all... Next semester I will be taking less classes (only 3 - compared to the 5 five I took last semester!)
I am also trying to stay organized at work and at home. My dear husband, got me a desk and some cabinets for my crafts so now I have a designed area for homework and for my crafts. I really hope to be able to do it a bit better this time around!

In between all that craziness I was able to complete some projects. One of my cousins just had a baby and for her baby shower I volunteered to create her baby shower invitations and some favors. Here is a pic of the cards I made:
I made about 80 of them but of course I didn't take a picture of them all! What do you think?? Cute huh? Well not as cute as my new niece Katie!

I also had an addition to my family! I got a pink Cricut expression! Unfortunately I haven't been able to use it as much as I'd like but I am getting there. I actually used it on Thursday to make some hug coupons that one of my brother's in law asked me for...

Here are the coupons... I made them in like 20 minutes... I think I did good... what do you say?

He gave the coupons to his parents so that they could use them whenever they feel they haven't seen one of their sons. We are all really busy somethings and we forget to slow down and just say hi, how are you! So this will be a nice reminder to slow down for a kiss and a hug!

Well, I think this is all for today! I hope you are all having a great Sunday! I am working on another post which I will hope to have ready for you all tomorrow!

Again have a great Sunday and a little late but Merry Christmas!

XOXO

Ideas for MOD Fundraiser

Hello All,
I have been so busy at work, that any time left I had I used to cook dinner, do chores at home and sleep! But I am having creative withdrawls! Hehehehe have you ever experience those?
Anyway, I am trying to get organized and I am happy to report, that I will start a new project today!!!
Here are the details:
I am in the process of creating, cards, bags, and books for a March of Dimes fundraiser.
Every year at work, we have different fundraisers (last year my group did a Relaxation basket and raiser over $500 bucks!) Other departments did different things too, sold baked goods, scarfs, book sales, etc, etc and this year we decided to have me make some cards, and paper crafts in order to raise some money for March of Dimes (MOD)

If you all have any ideas of easy, nice looking cards, please let me know... As you all know I am still very new to this and I suffer from creator's block very often! Hehehehe :0)

Anyway, I already have some ideas and some bags made so I will add some pictures shortly! Thanks again for stopping by and have a great day!
If you'd like some more info on March of Dimes please visit their site:
